    TOAST TO THE RESCUE

    If you’re out and about shopping at your local supermarkets, you may see our Toastie loaf featuring as part of some mouth-watering recipe inspiration on the posters outside stores!

    Here’s a step by step guide to the easy to make recipes, as well as the ingredients that you will need. All of the recipes can be created for just 50p per portion – making a cost effective light meal!

    Cheesy Beans on Toast

    Ingredients (37p)

    • 1 slice of Warburtons Toastie – 8p
    • 1/4 can baked beans – 10p
    • 15g grated cheddar – 15p
    • 6g butter – 4p

     

    Method

    1. Toast your bread. When toasting, toast to a light golden brown. Spread lightly with butter.
    2. Heat the beans and set aside.
    3. Assembly time: place the toast on a plate and top with the heated beans, then sprinkle with 15g of grated cheddar. Season with freshly cracked black pepper and enjoy immediately.

    Fried Egg and Bacon on Toast

    Ingredients (41p)

    • 1 slice of Warburtons Toastie – 8p
    • 1 egg – 9p
    • 2 rashers of smoked bacon – 24p
    • Salt and cracked black pepper

     

    Method

    1. Preheat a big pan on high and once hot add the bacon and a dash of water. This way the rashers won’t curl up and will gently cook to crispy perfection. crack the egg next to the bacon and cook until white is solid, but the egg yolk is still runny.
    2. Toast your bread. When toasting, toast to a light golden brown. Plate and set aside.
    3. Top the toast with the rashers of bacon. Add the fried egg on top and season with salt, black pepper/chilli flakes/brown sauce.

    Cream Cheese and Roasted Tomatoes on Toast

    Ingredients (36p)

    • 1 slice of Warburtons Toastie – 8p
    • 3 cherry tomatoes, roasted – 10p
    • 30g cream cheese – 18p
    • Black pepper, drizzle of olive oil

     

    Method

    1. Roast the tomatoes in a preheated oven till nice and soft.
    2.  Toast your bread. When toasting, toast to a light golden brown. Spread the cream cheese and top with 3 roasted tomatoes, make sure all the juices are poured over.
    3. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with parsley(optional), freshly cracked black pepper and salt.
    4. Enjoy fresh!

    Cheese and Tomato Toastie

    Ingredients (52p)

    • 2 slice of Warburtons Toastie – 16p
    • 6 cherry tomatoes, sliced – 6p
    • 50g grated cheddar – 30p

     

    Method

    1. Toast your bread. When toasting, toast to a light golden brown
    2. Top one slice with half of the cheddar, add the tomatoes slices and top with the rest of the cheddar. Put the second slice on top and press together carefully.
    3. Place the toastie in a preheated cast iron pan and cook until golden brown and the cheese is melty.
    4. Cut how you like, and enjoy hot!

    The base ingredients for all of the recipes (Toastie – 2 slices 14p, Cheese – 48g for 35p, and a smidgen of butter) are just 50p per portion. The content creators taking part have then added their own ingredients from their store cupboards.
