You will need
4 Warburtons White Rolls
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 tsp vegetable oil
4 tbs ketchup
2 tsp red wine vinegar or cider vinegar
1 tbs demerara sugar
Pinch smoked paprika
1 tsp chilli sauce, optional
4 tbs (heaped) cooked shredded beef brisket
Shredded iceberg, romaine or cos lettuce
4 slices mature cheddar or blue cheese, crumbled
Make it
| Serves 4
1) Fry the onions in the oil over a low heat for about 20 minutes until soft, golden and well caramelised then set aside
2) Meanwhile make the barbecue sauce by gently heating the ketchup, vinegar, sugar, paprika and chili sauce in a small pan. Bubble for a minute or so then turn off the heat and stir in the shredded beef
3) Add a handful of lettuce to the base of each white roll, then top with a generous spoonful of barbecue beef. Add the crumbled cheese and finally a spoonful of fried onions before popping on the lids.
