For Christmas 2020, we wanted to give our loyal crumpet lovers something extra special!

We invited you to slip your feet into our brand new, fluffy, cosy CHRISTMAS CRUMPET slippers for a toasty feet experience! That’s right, we released some limited-edition crumpet slippers, just in time for Christmas! And all of the proceeds from the sale of the slippers (excluding delivery) were donated to FareShare, the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste.

The slippers were available to buy online, and were the must-have Christmas gift this year for all bakery lovers. The unique new creations are sumptuously soft and feature a mouth-watering design, in a shape inspired by the circular goodness of our iconic crumpet.

For every pair of slippers purchased, the equivalent of 64 meals will be donated to those most in need during this festive period; in total, the proceeds from the campaign will enable FareShare to distribute over 85,000 free meals.

The limited-edition items were priced at £19.99 (incl. delivery), available in sizes XS-L, spanning shoe sizes 3-12.

Jonathan Warburton, Chairman at Warburtons says: “This year has been incredibly challenging for many families and communities across the country, both financially and from a health-perspective. That’s why we have worked hard to ensure we can feed the nation, both by getting product onto shelves but also by supporting food banks, community groups and breakfast clubs across the country.

“It was reflecting on this achievement that we realised we needed to find a festive way to finish the year, not only putting a smile on the faces of loved ones on Christmas Day, but also giving back to the loyal crumpet lovers who ensure we can donate as much as we have.

“As we enter some of the toughest months for those in need, FareShare’s incredible work fighting hunger was an obvious partner and we are proud to be able to donate all sale proceeds from the slippers to such a worthy cause.”

Linsay Boswell, CEO at FareShare says: “We are delighted that Warburtons have chosen to donate sales of their festive crumpet slippers to FareShare to help us feed families across the UK this winter.

“Getting good, nutritious food to vulnerable people has never been more vitally important than it is now, and this donation will make a big difference to the communities we support. Each pair of slippers sold will help FareShare provide 64 meals and we are so grateful to Warburtons for their support.”
