IT’S NOT JUST BAKING THAT WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT, IT’S OUR COMMUNITIES TOO
At Warburtons, people are at the heart of our business. Whether that’s our employees, our suppliers, our partners or our communities.
Since 1876, we have been passionate about supporting communities and families nationwide. Following on from our Families Matter programme, we launched the Warburtons Foundation in 2022 as a way to group together all of our community activities and set clear goals for what we want to achieve in our communities. The foundation aims to support families across Great Britain who are facing challenges by providing food education, product donations, and community initiatives.

We are passionate about supporting young people and helping them to get the best start in life. Working alongside teachers and experts, we’re creating quality classroom experiences that share our core values with the next generation. The programme offers free resources and is available for all schools to access, with a target of reaching 1.5 million children over three years.
Our curriculum-linked resources celebrate family and community, develop skills and ambition, empower children to take shared responsibility for their health and wellbeing and encourage young people to care for themselves and others.
We aim to support our communities through our financial giving programme. This enables us to provide support for projects, activities and organisations that have charitable aims and will be of real direct benefit to families.
Our bakeries around the country provide support to local communities through the donation of our products to support local community activities. From fresh loaves to crumpets and beyond, we have been able to supply millions of products to hospitals, schools, charities and more. And we won’t stop there! Following our original pledge at the launch of the Warburtons Foundation, we’ve extended our commitment to donate a further 1.25 million products this year to provide further support to the nation. These are giving to families in need through community hubs, such as breakfast clubs and foodbanks.
Magic Breakfast
We support Magic Breakfast by donating over 2 million meals to over 300 schools throughout the academic year to ensure that children and young people across the UK have the fuel they need to learn and start their school day.
Cancer Research UK has been our funding partner since 2015 and we are tremendously proud of the work that we have been able to do together thanks to everyone one of our employees. Our people have put a huge amount of effort, passion and hard work into organising activities up and down the country – from bake sales to bike rides, bungee jumping to climbing wind turbines! Our partnership continues with CRUK, and we strive to raise even more towards supporting the great work they do in the battle to beat cancer.
We have a partnership with our British farmers and The Country Trust to provide the opportunity for young people to head into the countryside and learn all about wheat and where bread comes from. The project focuses on giving primary school children the chance to visit their local farms and explore the growing process, from the importance of water and wildlife to the sampling of soil. It also gives them the chance to see what a farmer does every day. We’ve now extended our programme further, to include a wheat-focused Farm in a Box delivered to schools, for use in classrooms across the country.
