We recently held a series of workshops across the business to help unemployed youngsters gain the skills and knowledge required to help them onto the career ladder. Entitled 'Feeding Britain's Future', the workshops are part of an ongoing government initiative involving major producers in the UK's grocery and food-manufacturing sector.
Hosted at our Bolton and Variety bakeries, the sessions centred on a programme of presentations and talks from various careers trainers offering hints, tips and advice, in addition to Warburtons colleagues sharing their experiences of getting into the jobs market.
Guidance on preparing a relevant CV and how applicants should conduct themselves at interview were just some of the topics covered. The workshops also included role-play exercises offering attendees an insight to the importance of collaboration and teamwork within the workplace ' key qualities expected of youngsters applying for apprenticeships and work placements.
