    Describe your current role?

I'm the Learning & Development Manager based at Bolton Centre. I make sure we develop and retain talent at all levels of the business. Through coaching, support and various initiatives, I work closely with Managers and Leaders to develop workforce skills, knowledge and expertise.

    What's your background?

Previously, I've enjoyed spells at both M&S and BUPA. I've always worked in HR, primarily in Learning and Development.

    Why did you join Warburtons?

Talking to them, I felt there was huge opportunity to influence the company's L&D agenda and really make my mark on developing the talents of other colleagues.

    What development have you received?

I've recently completed MBTI Step 2 ' a tool allowing individuals to understand their own personality profile. It's been particularly useful in coaching senior colleagues to develop self-awareness and increase their effectiveness.

    Your biggest achievement so far?

That's easy' winning a National Training Award for our Technical Excellence Programme. It not only helps to raise the capability standard Managers, but it's also improved our quality scores across the board.

    What's your role?

Assistant Pensions Manager. I've always worked in pensions, but wanted to experience life from the client's perspective.

Has it worked out as you hoped?

Oh yes! Not only has working here given me the career path I wanted, more importantly Warburtons is a family-run organisation with a strong emphasis on its culture, values and quality, and a reputation for being the best.

    What do you do day-to-day?

I work on all aspects of the various pension arrangements Warburtons has, from arranging the payment of contributions and benefits to meeting with Pension Trustees to discuss wider investment strategies for the Plans as a whole.

What sort of development have you had?

I've only been here four months, but for the first three you have a very structured aims and objectives plan which is well managed, and I've been working closely with the Pensions Manager to help me develop into the role.
